Liverpool Refuse To Sell Zimbabwean Midfielder Trey Nyoni After Nottingham Forest Launch £30m Bid
Liverpool have turned down a lucrative offer from Nottingham Forest for England-born Zimbabwean midfielder Trey Nyoni
Forest pushed to sign the 19-year-old before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.
Their proposal included £25 million upfront, with a further £5 million available through add-ons.
Liverpool, however, have made it clear that Nyoni is not for sale.

Liverpool choose to keep Nyoni
The decision reflects Liverpool’s growing confidence in the England youth international.
The club believes the teenager can play a significantly bigger role this season.
That belief has become even stronger following his performances during pre-season.
Liverpool’s stance also comes after the departure of Curtis Jones.
Jones joined Inter in a £30 million deal earlier this month.
Rather than immediately bringing in another midfielder, Liverpool decided that Nyoni could step into a more prominent position within the squad.
Forest impressed by midfielder
Nottingham Forest’s interest comes after Nyoni caught the eye during his limited opportunities for Liverpool.
He made his presence felt again when the two teams met at Anfield on Saturday.
Nyoni came off the bench during the 2-2 draw and showed why Forest were prepared to make a substantial investment in him.
Forest manager Andoni Iraola has also been impressed by what he has seen from the youngster.
The midfielder has trained alongside senior players during Liverpool’s preparations and has reportedly held his own.
Long-term plans for Nyoni
Nyoni joined Liverpool from Leicester City’s academy three years ago.
He has since made 21 appearances for the first team.
Liverpool handed him a new long-term contract last summer as part of their efforts to secure his future.
Another extension could now be discussed as the club continues to monitor his rapid progress.
Iraola confident in youngster
Iraola previously praised Nyoni and backed him to make an impact during the campaign.
“I’m very happy with Trey.
“He has been very good in pre-season, not only in the games, even when he trains with us he’s facing top-level players and he’s at the level. I have no doubts with Trey. He will be very valuable this season for us, hopefully plays a lot and gives the level that I’m seeing every day in training.”
With Liverpool refusing to entertain Forest’s £30 million proposal, Nyoni looks set to remain at Anfield.
