ZRP Seeks Public Help To Identify 7 Unidentified Murder Victims

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has appealed to the public for assistance in identifying 7 people who were found dead in separate incidents, with their bodies still being held at three hospital mortuaries. The cases include victims found in Harare, Ruwa, Epworth and Bindura, with the earliest case dating back to September 2025.

The appeal was issued in a police press statement dated 2 September 2026.

ZRP Releases Details Of 7 Victims

Police provided descriptions of each victim, including their estimated ages, clothing and the locations where they were found:

Male, approximately 25–35 years old: Found dead along Baines Avenue, Harare, on 29 April 2026. He was wearing a brown, striped cream jersey and a blue T-shirt. His body is being held at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals Mortuary.
Male, approximately 30 years old: Found dead in Damafalls Phase 1, Ruwa, in April 2026. He was wearing black boxer shorts. His body is also being held at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals Mortuary.
Female, approximately 24–27 years old: Found dead at Pioneer Cemetery, Mbare, Harare, on 23 September 2025. Police said she was barefoot and wearing a maroon top and skirt. Her body is at Sally Mugabe Hospital Mortuary.
Male juvenile, approximately 12–13 years old: Found dead in a pumpkin field behind Zororo Bar, near the Mukuvisi River, on 11 October 2025. His body is being held at Sally Mugabe Hospital Mortuary.
Male, approximately 25 years old: Found dead beside a durawall in a grassy area at the corner of Conald and Bell Streets, Graniteside Industrial Area, Harare, on 5 July 2025. He was wearing a khaki jacket, black trousers and white sneakers. His body is at Sally Mugabe Hospital Mortuary.
Male, approximately 30 years old: Found dead along a dust road in Muguta, Epworth, Harare, on 14 June 2025. He was wearing a black Puma tracksuit, cream T-shirt, white shorts and black socks. His body is being held at Chitungwiza Hospital Mortuary.
Male adult: Found dead at a makeshift shack in a bushy area at Eddie Pfugari Properties, Brookdale, Bindura, on 26 May 2026. His body is being held at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals Mortuary.

Police Appeal For Missing Persons Information

The ZRP said it is investigating the cases and wants information that could establish the victims’ identities.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating cases involving unidentified murder victims and is appealing to members of the public for information which may assist in establishing their identities,” the statement said.
