Glen View 8 Home Industry Hit By Another Major Fire
A massive fire swept through the Glen View 8 home industry complex in Harare early this morning, prompting a major response from the city’s fire brigade.
The blaze broke out at the busy complex, which accommodates hundreds of small and medium enterprises, with most businesses involved in furniture manufacturing.

Firefighters Battle Fierce Blaze
The City of Harare confirmed the incident on its Facebook page, saying fire brigade teams had been deployed to tackle the blaze.
The fire was reportedly fierce and required firefighters to remain at the scene for several hours before they managed to bring it under control.
The council later said it had mobilised water tankers to support the fire engines and ensure that they could continue fighting the blaze without having to return to their stations to replenish their water supplies.

Nearby Homes Threatened
Harare City Council Corporate Communications Manager Stanley Gama commended the firefighters for containing the fire, saying the blaze had threatened nearby homes.
“The fire was eventually contained after hours of heroic works by our Fire Brigade. These men and women have shown time and again that they will deliver when called to duty.
“Im told the fire was threatening even nearby homes but our fire teams managed to contain the situation. We are still investigating the cause of the fire,” said Gama.
Another Fire At Busy Complex
The latest blaze is the latest in a series of fires reported at the Glen View 8 home industry complex.
The area is home to hundreds of businesses, many of which manufacture furniture, making fires at the complex a major concern for traders and surrounding residents.
