Four Dead After Inter Africa Bus Collides With Honda Fit In Bulawayo
Four people died in the early hours of Wednesday after an Inter Africa bus collided with a Honda Fit in Bulawayo. Four others were injured in the crash.
The accident happened shortly after 1am at the intersection of the Bulawayo-Harare highway and Cecil Avenue.

Firefighters Recover Bodies From Wreckage
The four men who died were trapped in the wreckage following the impact.
Bulawayo Fire and Rescue Services were called to the scene and worked to free the victims before their bodies were handed over to the police.
Speaking to The Chronicle, Bulawayo Chief Fire Officer Mhlangano Moyo confirmed that all four men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The collision left the Honda Fit extensively damaged, while the Inter Africa bus came off the road and ended up lying on its right side.
Four People Taken To Hospital
Four people survived the crash but required medical attention.
A male occupant of the Honda Fit suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Mpilo Central Hospital.
Three women who were travelling on the bus suffered soft tissue injuries and were transported to United Bulawayo Hospitals.
Moyo said emergency workers first treated the injured at the scene before taking them to the respective hospitals.
Bus And Honda Fit Collide At Intersection
According to the fire chief, the Inter Africa bus was heading towards Bulawayo’s city centre along Harare Road when the collision occurred.
The Honda Fit was entering the intersection from Cecil Avenue.
Moyo said the smaller vehicle allegedly failed to give way to the approaching bus.
“The Inter Africa bus was travelling westwards along Harare Road when it collided with a Honda Fit which was approaching the give-way intersection from Cecil Avenue,” he said.
The police have since taken over the four bodies as investigations into the fatal crash continue.
