Killer Zivhu, a former Member of Parliament for Chivhu South, has spoken out regarding a distressing incident involving a mother who allegedly assaulted her 10-month-old baby and offered her $2 500 to rebuild her life.
While he condemns the mother’s actions, Zivhu believes that her behaviour stems from underlying issues of poverty and frustration. This is the reason behind his offer to give her money to help her start afresh.
Advocating for Compassion Over Punishment
Zivhu argues that the solution to this tragic situation lies not in imprisonment but in providing the mother with necessary counseling. He emphasizes that removing her from her child would only inflict additional suffering on both parties. To assist her in starting anew, Zivhu has generously offered a sum of US$2,500.
Condemning the act, but considering the context. Poverty & frustration drove her to desperation. She needs counselling, not prison. Mother & child will suffer more if separated. I’m offering $2500 to help her start anew #CompassionOverJudgment #SupportNotPunish pic.twitter.com/KCodpTr2ct
