Julius Malema takes aim at MySol, calls him a small boy

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has launched a verbal attack on North West mining businessman Solomon “MySol” Soka Madibela.

Malema addressed party supporters at Letlhabile Stadium in Madibeng on Saturday. He used the rally ahead of the 4 November election to challenge the distribution of mining wealth.

The EFF leader argued that mining operations should benefit ordinary South Africans instead of wealthy individuals. He also dismissed Madibela’s financial influence and warned against allowing a few people to dominate the industry.

“When EFF takes over, these mines will service our people. These mines will not service MySol. MySol se foot, I repeat it, MySol se foot. You must tell him that he is a small boy to me,” Malema said.

Malema also insisted that he would not be intimidated by wealthy individuals who flaunted their money.

“I’m not scared of boys who go around flaunting money. I’m not scared of boys who think they have money,” he said.

Furthermore, the EFF leader called for wider participation in the mining sector. He argued that ordinary people deserved opportunities without depending on family connections or intimidation.

“There’s no MySol who will enjoy mining money alone. All of you should get into mining. No one should enter through family connections or weapons in the mines. All of you should work at the mines,” he said.

EFF leader warns against intimidation

Malema then turned his attention to the alleged use of wealth to intimidate communities across the North West.

He specifically mentioned Rustenburg and Madibeng while warning against anyone using money to threaten local residents.

“I don’t care about MySol’s money. He mustn’t insult us. We can’t be insulted by kids who think they have money. No one will terrorise Rustenburg, Madibeng, North West, in the name of money,” Malema said.

Meanwhile, Madibela has attracted public attention through his activities in the mining industry. Earlier this month, he also appeared on the Podcast and Chill network.

Malema’s comments have renewed attention on mining ownership and the distribution of mineral wealth. The EFF leader maintains that local communities should benefit directly if his party takes power.
