Business tycoon and philanthropist Kuda Tagwirei has pledged to construct a large Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church in Mutoko, much to the excitement of the local congregation, but reactions on social media have been far from unanimous.

The news was first shared by user @CMukungunugwa on X, who posted a video of Tagwirei speaking at a church gathering. In the clip, Tagwirei, who is an elder in the SDA Church, promises to begin construction as early as this week or the next.

“Izvozvi vhiki rino richitanga maybe rinotevera racho iro tinoda kuvaka chechi inotyisa pano,” he said.

@CMukungunugwa praised Tagwirei for being a man of action and not just words, writing:

“Elder Tagwirei pledges to build a massive SDA church in Mutoko. True to his word, he continues to uplift communities with action, not just promises.”
