SASSA through its official X account issued a public notice calling for all unpaid grant beneficiaries to go through an information verification process.
The South African Social Security Agence has called for all the beneficiaries that failed to receive their May grants to visit their closest Sassa branches.

SASSA May Grant Payments Dates
The May grant payments were made last week on the following dates:
- The older persons’ grant was paid on Tuesday, 6 May
- Disability grants were paid on Wednesday, 7 May
- On 8 May, SASSA paid Children’s grants

If you are a grant beneficiary under any of the above SASSA grants and haven’t been paid yet, you are encouraged to visit your nearest branch.
SASSA Beneficiaries Verification Process Explained
SASSA is conducting the verification process while targeting several cases. You must participate in the verification process if you used an alternative identification method besides the digital ID.
The verification process also targets people whose personal circumstances have changed and who did not declare other sources of income in their original applications.
Individuals who have not received their grants should bring their original ID documents to the SASSA offices. SASSA is working with Home Affairs to validate ID numbers that are not shown in the grant system.
The organisation has also asked beneficiaries to report any discrepancies between the amounts they are supposed to receive and the actual amounts received.
Those who choose to ignore the verification process risk immediate suspension of grant payments. If the beneficiaries continue to ignore calls for verification, the payments could be permanently cancelled.
