From Pope to Plane Crashes: Prophetic Eliezer’s Unnerving Accuracy
When Cardinal Robert Prevost was elected Pope on 9 May 2025, few imagined that his name, Leo XIV, had already been predicted—two days before his election—by a South African-based preacher known as Prophetic Eliezer.
“The next Pope will be very instrumental in these end times… Take this as a sign, the next Pope is called Robert Prevost. JESUS IS COMING SOONER THAN YOU THINK,”
posted Prophetic Eliezer on Facebook at 22:32 on 6 May 2025.
Now, the election of the first American pontiff is fuelling fresh interest in a series of prophecies shared by the man of the cloth, many of which appear to have come true months—or even years—later.

“It wasn’t clear, but let’s pray lives are preserved”
Back in May 2023, the Prophetic Eliezer posted a chilling message about Malawi. It now reads like a tragic forewarning of the June 2024 military aircraft crash that claimed the life of Malawian Vice-President Saulos Chilima and nine others.
“Let’s pray for Malawi. I saw in about a year from now a plane that seemed to have soldiers or is it gym officials in the presidium falling in a forest & they’re searching for it for days. It wasn’t clear, but let’s pray that lives are preserved. Is it in June 2024?”
— Prophetic Eliezer, 22 May 2023
Exactly a year later, BBC News confirmed the tragic outcome of a military plane crash in Chikangawa Forest, where the Malawi Defence Force spent days searching for survivors before confirming there were none.

“She’s the Deborah God is raising”
Even more eyebrow-raising is Eliezer’s 2021 prophecy about Namibia electing a woman president.
“I saw a woman president in Namibia around 2024. Keep this. It’s her time; she needs prayers though… She’s the Deborah God is raising in that nation for that time. She must pray; I saw her name with an N.”
— Facebook, 8 December 2021
Fast forward to 21 March 2025, and Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah was sworn in as Namibia’s first female president. In an interview with the BBC, she acknowledged the immense pressure of being a trailblazer:
“If things go well then it will be seen as a good example… but if anything happens, there are those who would say: ‘Look at women!’”
The coincidence of timing and the reference to the letter “N” in the prophecy has stirred public interest in Eliezer’s page, which features dozens of similar messages.

Zimbabwe Election Foretold: Mnangagwa’s Win and a Hidden Warning
Just four days before Zimbabwe’s contentious 2023 election, Eliezer shared a detailed vision:
“Declared winner Emerson Mnangagwa with just over 52% of the vote… A voice came & said he has been weighed and does not measure up to the measurements of God; therefore, he will not complete his 5 years.”
Official results showed Mnangagwa winning 52.6% – a figure chillingly close to the prophecy. Opposition leader Nelson Chamisa rejected the outcome.
Even more intriguing? The prophecy suggested Mnangagwa would not finish his term – a claim that remains unfulfilled but continues to fuel speculation.
He then described a mysterious wind blowing papers showing a different outcome—one that had “NC with 59%”—followed by unrest among students. The prophecy concluded with:
“A voice came & said he has been weighed and does not measure up… therefore, he will not complete his 5 years.”
Whether symbolic or literal, followers have debated the deeper meaning. Some believe the initials NC refer to Nelson Chamisa, the main opposition leader.

“Check the timestamps for yourself”
With such uncanny predictions, some have raised questions about whether the posts might have been edited after the events took place. On Facebook, it’s possible to modify the content of a post after publishing it—a loophole that has been exploited by others in the past to create the illusion of foresight.
However, Prophetic Eliezer and his followers are urging sceptics to check for themselves.
Eliezer’s assistant, Roselyn, told our newsroom:
“People edit Facebook posts all the time, but these weren’t. Anyone can go on the page and check the dates for themselves. These posts are timestamped. They’re still up.”
Indeed, Facebook includes a small “Edited” label on posts that have been changed after they were published. Clicking this label reveals the edit history. As of today, the controversial posts on Prophetic Eliezer’s page show no such edits.
She also encouraged the public to visit the Prophetic Eliezer Facebook page, not only to verify the dates, but to read testimonies about healings, breakthroughs, and answered prayers.
“We just want people to know that the prophecies are real. We’re not forcing anyone to believe, but the evidence is there.”
