Businessman Wicknell Chivayo has once again lived up to his flashy and generous reputation, this time showering his childhood friend, Tazvi “Chief J” Mhaka, with luxury birthday gifts worth a fortune.

To mark Mhaka’s birthday on Sunday, 25 May, Chivayo took to social media with a heartfelt tribute that revealed not only their long-standing friendship but also just how far they’ve come together.

In an emotional post, Chivayo reflected on their humble beginnings at Cranborne Boys High School. He recalled days when they played chess at lunch, shared meals, and walked home with nothing in their pockets but dreams of becoming rich.

He quoted the late Oliver Mtukudzi’s song Jeri to highlight the strength of their bond. Chivayo wrote:

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO AN AMAZING FRIEND…ZVAMUNOONA HUSAHWIRA HUNOKUNDA HUKAMA…It’s hard to believe how time flies. It feels like YESTERDAY, when we shared a desk in Form 1A1 at Cranborne Boys High School, tichitamba Chess during lunch time, sharing our lunchboxes and walking home without a CENT in our TORN pockets. As two young BROKE BEST FRIENDS all we did was having what seemed to be WILD dreams of growing to become very RICH GUYS. We had nothing but a DREAM and we thank GOD we started from the bottom, now we’re here sitting at the TOP!!!”

Chivayo said he struggled to come up with a birthday gift big enough for someone like Chief J, who already lives large and drives a Bentley. Eventually, he settled on something practical, a car that Tazvi Mhaka can use for the weekends.

He revealed that Mhaka should visit FaraMatsi Motors on Tuesday, 26 May, to collect a 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser VXR 300 series. Not stopping there, he also invited Mhaka’s wife, Ruby, to choose any colour she liked for her 2025 Toyota Fortuner 4×4 2.8 GD6, saying she deserved a good car for errands like grocery shopping. He added:

“I have EVERY REASON to celebrate you on this special occasion of your BIRTHDAY my brother “CHIEF J”. Today, I celebrate our UNSTOPPABLE journey of GRACE, grind, and greatness. I celebrate another year of BROTHERHOOD and real FRIENDSHIP. I celebrate a man who has inspired me, challenged me and sharpened me. As the BIGGEST BOSS in town, closing BIG deals and driving a BENTLEY BEYTAGA , it is now proving very DIFFICULT finding an appropriate gift befitting of your STATUS and importance to me. In your VERY BUSY schedule my brother, please spare some few minutes to go and see FARAI at FARAMATSI MOTORS at their Clubhouse Chambers Showroom, Cnr 3rd and Nelson Mandela Avenue. Before ending the post, Chivayo added one last surprise — US$250,000 in cash, which he instructed Mhaka to collect from his finance director. The message reads:
