Kembo Mohadi’s Condition Stabilised After Being Airlifted From Zanu PF Conference
Vice President Kembo Mohadi’s condition was stabilised at a trauma centre in Harare after he fell ill at the Zanu PF conference in Chinhoyi on Friday, according to the Presidency.
Presidential spokesperson George Charamba confirmed that the 76-year-old Vice President was flown to the capital shortly after proceedings began.

Chiwenga Helped His Colleague
The incident unfolded while Mashonaland West provincial minister Marian Chombo was welcoming guests at the podium.
Kembo Mohadi had been seated beside President Mnangagwa, with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga on the other side of the President. A commotion at the top table drew attention as Chiwenga supported Mohadi and helped him backstage.
He was subsequently airlifted to Harare for medical attention.
Charamba Confirms Airlift And Treatment
In an account of the incident, Charamba said Mohadi became indisposed during the opening stages of the conference and had to be helped away from the main table.
“Vice President KCD Mohadi was taken ill soon after the commencement of proceedings at the conference.
“He was helped off the top table by his counterpart, Vice President Chiwenga. He was then airlifted to the Trauma Centre in Harare, where his condition was stabilised,” Charamba said.
He, however, did not disclose what caused Mohadi to fall ill.
President Mnangagwa Checks On Mohadi In Hospital
George Charamba revealed that Kembo Mohadi spent the night in hospital and was “doing remarkably well”.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa visited Vice President Kembo Mohadi at a local hospital this Saturday morning before travelling to Chinhoyi for the final day of Zanu PF’s Annual People’s Conference.
“The Vice President was last night detained at a local hospital and is doing remarkably well. This morning His Excellency the President passed by the hospital to check on him before proceeding to Chinhoyi for the second and final day of the ruling ZANU PF’s Annual People’s Conference,” Charamba added.
