Mzansi Mourns: ‘Tsotsi’ Actor Presley Chweneyagae Has Died
Award-winning South African actor Presley Oageng Chweneyagae, popularly known as “Cobrizi,” has died at the age of 40.
The celebrated actor, best known for his roles in the Oscar-winning film Tsotsi and the International Emmy-nominated series The River, passed away today, 27 May 2025.
Presley Chweneyagae Death Confirmed
Presley’s sudden untimely death was confirmed in a statement by his manager Nina Morris Lee.
It is with profound sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of one of South Africa’s most gifted and beloved actors, Presley Chweneyagae, at the age of 40,” the statement read.
His cause of death has not yet been revealed.
