Kwekwe residents have been left reeling in shock after a stray dog eats a newborn baby that had been deserted in Mbizo.
The Mbizo 19 neighbourhood remains in a state of profound distress following the grim discovery of a stray dog feeding on human infant remains earlier this week.
This is the second gruesome dog attack that has happened in Zimbabwe that led to the death of a human. Recently, Zimbabweans mourned a Bluffhill man who was attacked by a neighbour’s pitbull.
Stray Dog Eats Baby In Kwekwe
Local witnesses told Newsday that the traumatic scene was seen near an unfinished church building, where community members spotted the canine with what appeared to be neonatal remains.
The exact circumstances leading to the infant’s presence at the location remain undetermined, including whether the child was alive when abandoned.

“Law enforcement officials collected the remains for forensic examination and mortuary preservation while investigators work to piece together this heartbreaking case,” a shaken resident revealed.
