Three people are dead, and six others are fighting for their lives after a head-on collision along Mvurwi road. The devastating head-on crash occurred near the Maori Turn Off, approximately 38 kilometres from Mvurwi, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene following the accident, which occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. Preliminary reports from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) indicate that a Toyota Dyna truck, transporting seven individuals, collided with a Mazda Demio vehicle carrying six passengers. The impact of the crash was described as severe.

The force of the collision proved instantly fatal for three of the victims, who were pronounced dead at the scene. The six survivors, all suffering from various injuries, required urgent medical attention and were subsequently transported to the nearest medical facility for treatment. The police confirmed the grim logistics that followed the tragedy.

A police spokesperson stated:
“The bodies of the victims were taken to Mvurwi Hospital mortuary for postmortem, while the injured were admitted at Concession Hospital.”
The identities of the deceased are being withheld pending the completion of formal next-of-kin notifications, a process being handled with utmost sensitivity by the authorities.
