Emergency services were dispatched to the scene following the accident, which occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. Preliminary reports from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) indicate that a Toyota Dyna truck, transporting seven individuals, collided with a Mazda Demio vehicle carrying six passengers. The impact of the crash was described as severe.

The force of the collision proved instantly fatal for three of the victims, who were pronounced dead at the scene. “The bodies of the victims were taken to Mvurwi Hospital mortuary for postmortem, while the injured were admitted at Concession Hospital.”
