The incident sparked massive outrage, with many demanding severe punishment. The grandmother was hospitalized and treated for her injuries. A businessman offered a R100,000 reward for Ngqaza’s capture, denouncing the incident as repulsive. Ngqaza will face charges of assault at the Blue Downs magistrate’s court.
