Flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo has gifted veteran writer, broadcaster and film legend Aaron Chiundura Moyo a brand-new 2025 Toyota Fortuner 4×4 GD6 along with US$50,000 in cash.

Chivayo announced the gesture on his X account, where he praised Moyo’s unmatched influence on Zimbabwe’s arts and entertainment industry.

A Tribute to a Cultural Icon

In his lengthy tribute, Chivayo described Chiundura Moyo as a towering figure in Zimbabwean storytelling, highlighting his contributions to beloved productions such as Studio 263, Tiri Parwendo, Chiwoko Muhomwe, and Zviri Mudendere.

He also commended the writer for producing over 20 novels, many of which became part of the national school curriculum.

Chivayo noted that Chiundura Moyo shaped Zimbabwe’s television and theatre landscape at a time when resources were scarce and technology was limited, yet still managed to create timeless works that influenced generations.

The Gift: A Fortuner and US$50,000

The businessman instructed Chiundura Moyo to collect the fully paid-for vehicle at Exquisite Car Dealership in Harare on Monday. He added that the US$50,000 was meant to support fuel costs and allow the celebrated writer to “spoil himself with an early Christmas.”
