Who will save the sinking ship? Dynamos players strike again

Dynamos players are on strike again, refusing to train as they demand unpaid bonuses from the club. The players claim the team owes them bonuses for at least six matches in the 2025 season. Some members are also still waiting for their signing-on fees.

Disruption Ahead of Chibuku Super Cup Final

The squad, which narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier Soccer League (PSL) on Sunday, refused to train on Tuesday morning. This protest comes just days before the Chibuku Super Cup final against Triangle United at Gibbo Stadium. Dynamos will aim for a record third Chibuku Super Cup title when they face Triangle United on 29 November at Gibbo Stadium in the southeast Lowveld.

However, winning will not be easy. The club has not beaten Triangle in a league match at Gibbo since 2016.

History and Hopes for Redemption

Despite recent struggles, Dynamos have been dominant in the Chibuku Super Cup over the past two years. They won consecutive finals against Ngezi Platinum Stars at Baobab and Rufaro Stadium. Triangle United last lifted the Chibuku Super Cup in 2018. In the tournament’s history, only Dynamos, Harare City, and FC Platinum have won the trophy twice.
