Air Zimbabwe Hikes Harare-London Ticket Prices By Up To 60%

Air Zimbabwe Raises Harare-London Ticket Prices By Up To US$512

Travellers flying between Harare and London on Air Zimbabwe will now have to pay up to 60% more after the national airline significantly increased fares on its Harare-London route.

The steep fare hike sees one-way ticket prices rise by 59.6%, while return fares have increased by 56.9%. The new prices were announced as Air Zimbabwe confirmed it had resumed its normal three-times-weekly service to London Gatwick following last week’s operational disruption.

Air Zimbabwe Raises Harare-London Fares By Nearly 60%

Passengers booking a one-way flight from Harare to London will now pay from US$790 (about R13,035), up from US$495 (about R8,168).

The increase of US$295 (about R4,868) represents a 59.6% jump in the airline’s lowest advertised one-way fare.

Return tickets have also become significantly more expensive. The fare has risen from US$900 (about R14,850) to US$1,412 (about R23,298).

That is an increase of US$512 (about R8,448), or 56.9%.

The higher fares mean passengers travelling between Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom will now spend hundreds of US dollars more for the same journey than they did before the increase.

Air Zimbabwe Confirms Normal London Flight Schedule

The airline announced the new fares as it confirmed that its Harare-London service had returned to its regular schedule after Flight UM724, which was due to depart for London on 31 July 2026, was cancelled because of what Air Zimbabwe described as “operational reasons.”

In a statement, Air Zimbabwe said:

“Air Zimbabwe wishes to advise its valued passengers and stakeholders that normal flight scheduling has been restored. All Air Zimbabwe flights are operating as scheduled.”

The airline also thanked passengers affected by the disruption.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to all passengers and stakeholders affected by the recent disruption. Your understanding, patience, and continued loyalty have been deeply appreciated during this period.”

Higher Airfares Become The Biggest Change For Travellers

While the restoration of the flight schedule provides certainty for passengers travelling between Harare and London, the most immediate impact will be on travellers’ wallets.

Anyone booking the route will now pay between 56.9% and 59.6% more than before, making the Harare-London service significantly more expensive than it was just weeks ago.
