Gerald Takwara returns to the Zimbabwe League

Hardrock FC have boosted their squad by signing Zimbabwe Warriors defender Gerald Takwara.

The newly promoted Premier Soccer League side continues to recruit experienced players ahead of the new campaign.

Takwara joins the Kwekwe club after leaving Iraqi outfit Al-Minaa when his contract expired.

The 31-year-old defender becomes another notable addition to Hardrock’s growing squad.

Earlier, the club secured Eswatini pair Thubelihle Mavuso and Yekisizwe “Yeki” Khumalo.

Takwara Returns to Zimbabwe

Takwara returns to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after five years abroad.

He last played in Zimbabwe for Ngezi Platinum Stars before moving overseas.

During his career, he has also represented Tsholotsho FC, FC Platinum, Ajax Cape Town, Venda FC, Ohod and Al-Minaa.

Meanwhile, Takwara remains an important figure for the Zimbabwe national team.

He has earned more than 20 caps for the Warriors.

His arrival adds valuable experience as Hardrock prepare for life in the top flight.
