Ministry Investigates Disputed Mining Area
The investigation will examine mining rights in the disputed area and determine whether operations at the site comply with mining, safety and environmental regulations.
The Ministry said it would work with the mine operator, artisanal miners, law enforcement agencies and local leadership to establish the circumstances surrounding the clashes.
Authorities will also identify any parties found to have acted unlawfully, with appropriate action to be taken based on the findings.

The Ministry said violence, destruction of property and other forms of unlawful conduct had no place in the mining sector.
It emphasised that disagreements between mining companies and artisanal miners should be handled through established legal and administrative procedures rather than confrontation.
