Man Left Naked After US$20 Payment Dispute With Harare Sex Workers
A Milton Park man allegedly endured a humiliating ordeal after failing to pay an agreed US$20 (about R330) fee for sexual services in Harare. The incident reportedly ended with the man being forced to sit naked on the floor while a group of women demanded payment.
Harare Man Alleges He Was Humiliated After Payment Dispute
H-Metro reports that the man, identified only as Tony, met a 19-year-old woman known as Mai Chimwana at the corner of Sixth Street and Central Avenue on the night of Tuesday, 28 July 2026. The pair allegedly agreed on a US$20 (about R330) fee before heading to a flat at Gail Court along Samora Machel Avenue.
Tony told the publication that he only had US$10 (about R165) despite agreeing to pay double that amount.
“I met this lady at the corner of Sixth and Central Avenue when I was on my way home and entered into the transaction. Upon reaching the apartment, I was shocked to see five different beds in the room.
“Other ladies came around 2am and I was disturbed by their presence. They asked me to be comfortable with Mai Chimwana.
“The other ladies were peeping from their blankets, and this kept me awake the whole night as I was fearing to lose my belongings.”
He further claimed he intended to collect money from a client before settling the agreed fee.
“I wanted to take her to my client so that she hands over the banner and be given the money, take her US$20 and give me the balance.”
Sex Worker Gives Her Version Of Events
Mai Chimwana disputed Tony’s account, saying he understood the arrangements before entering the room.
She told H-Metro that Tony allegedly tried to leave without paying, prompting her to seek help from other women in the apartment.
“Tony wanted to leave without paying the agreed fee and this forced me to call for support from other ladies. He had money but did not want to pay and besides the services provided he got overnight accommodation.
“Tony negotiated from US$40 and I agreed to the US$20 because I was feeling cold and wanted to get off the streets.”
Incident Ends In Public Embarrassment
According to H-Metro, the dispute escalated when the women allegedly forced Tony to sit naked on the floor while threatening to pour raw sewage on him. The publication also reports that some of his belongings were confiscated during the confrontation.
