Poor Results and League Struggles
During his time at the club, Katsande oversaw seven matches, recording one win, four draws and two defeats. The results leave Rangers FC struggling near the bottom of the table in 18th place in the 22-team league.
Salary Dispute and Living Conditions
In his resignation, Katsande cited failure by the club to honour financial obligations as a key reason for his departure. He revealed that he had not received any salary or agreed sign-on fee since the start of his contract.
He also raised concerns about the living conditions provided by the club, describing them as unsuitable and not in line with professional standards. According to him, repeated efforts to address the issues with management yielded no results, making it difficult to continue in the role.
Future Still in Zimbabwe Football
Despite the setback, Katsande is expected to remain active in local football circles. Reports suggest he could be linked with a move to FC Oden, while he has also been spotted at Caps United training sessions in recent days.
Building a Coaching Career
The former Zimbabwe international, who also played for Sekhukhune United, is working to establish himself in coaching. He holds a CAF C Licence and has ambitions of eventually taking charge of Zimbabwe’s junior national teams.
Katsande has also been investing in youth development through his Kitoko Soccer School, a project that has already produced players who have progressed to the top flight in Zimbabwe.
