Malawi coach Kalisto Pasuwa has stepped up his player monitoring after watching Hardrock FC face Bulawayo Chiefs.
The Zimbabwean coach attended the Chibuku Super Cup clash at Chahwanda Stadium. His visit also brought attention to Malawi striker MacDonald Lameck.
Lameck recently joined Hardrock after leaving Malawian champions Silver Strikers. He remains part of the Flames setup under Pasuwa.
Pasuwa keeps close eye on Lameck
Pasuwa’s appearance provided an opportunity to assess Lameck during competitive action. The striker could become an important option for Malawi’s national team.
The experienced coach took permanent charge of the Flames after signing a two-year contract in 2025. His current agreement runs until 2027.
Therefore, Pasuwa continues monitoring Malawian players competing outside their home country. Zimbabwe offers him a particularly useful opportunity because of several players based locally.
Hardrock chase Chibuku Super Cup progress
Meanwhile, Hardrock entered the match seeking a place in the competition’s next round. Bulawayo Chiefs stood between them and progression from the Round of 16.
The fixture also gave Lameck another chance to impress his national team coach. Pasuwa’s presence added further significance to the encounter.
Consequently, the striker had extra motivation to deliver a strong performance. Pasuwa will now assess Lameck’s display alongside other players competing for Malawi selection.
