Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed Zimbabwean champions Scottland FC as their opponents in the 2026 Toyota Cup.
The announcement gives the Harare-based club its first opportunity to compete in an international tournament.
Notably, the news comes days after Kaizer Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung visited Zimbabwe.
During the trip, he met Scottland owner Scott Sakupwanya.
That meeting has now led to Scottland’s inclusion in the prestigious pre-season competition.
The match will take place on July 26 at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg.
Fans will also witness Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona facing their former club.
Important Test Before Continental Debut
The Toyota Cup enters its third edition this year.
For Kaizer Chiefs, the fixture forms a key part of preparations for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, Scottland will use the match to measure themselves against strong opposition.
The Zimbabwean champions will soon begin their first-ever CAF Champions League campaign.
They secured qualification after winning the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title.
Furthermore, the invitation reflects growing ties between the two clubs.
Recent engagements between Chiefs and Scottland leadership strengthened that relationship.
Bobby Motaung’s visit and discussions with Sakupwanya appear to have paved the way for the collaboration.
The Toyota Cup clash is scheduled to kick off at 21:00 (SA time) on July 26.
