Mukumbura Man Kills Wife With Axe Following Domestic Dispute over Infidelity
A 36-year-old woman from Mukumbura, Mashonaland Central, died after she was attacked with an axe by her husband following a domestic dispute linked to allegations of infidelity.
The incident occurred on 22 September 2026 at Marowa Village in Mukumbura, where police say Nollent Sinosi died at the scene after sustaining severe injuries.
Her husband, Robert Tashinga (50), is alleged to have attacked her during an argument before fleeing from the area.
Police investigations into the case are continuing, and efforts to locate the suspect are underway.

Police Raise Concern Over Domestic Violence
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has expressed concern over an increase in cases of murder, attempted murder and suicide involving couples and family members.
According to police, many of these incidents stem from unresolved domestic disputes, with some ending in fatalities while others leave victims with serious injuries.
Call For Peaceful Resolution Of Family Disputes
Police have urged members of the public to seek peaceful ways of resolving conflicts and avoid resorting to violence during disagreements.
The latest incident in Mukumbura adds to a growing list of cases involving family members and couples, prompting renewed calls for communities to promote dialogue and seek assistance when disputes arise before they escalate into tragedy.

Harare Murder-Suicide Adds To String Of Deadly Family Disputes
The Mukumbura case comes shortly after another fatal domestic dispute in Harare involving Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC) Commissioner Martin Muduva and his wife.
Muduva died after he was struck twice with an axe by his wife, 43-year-old nurse Lyliosa Chirara, while he was asleep at their home in Dzivarasekwa Extension on the night of 8 September 2026.
Chirara later died after ingesting poison, turning the incident into a murder-suicide.
The dispute stemmed from tensions over Muduva having paid lobola to formalise his relationship with his second wife, Vongai Patience Mangwiro, with whom he had been in a five-year relationship.
