EWN reported that investigators had uncovered new details surrounding the arrest.
An EWN reporter said:
“Tshuma has been charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm. EWN has reliably learned that Tshuma bought the 9mm pistol in Alexandra and was allegedly close to taking his own life before police moved in to arrest him.”
The broadcaster also reported that the firearm allegedly recovered by police was a 9mm pistol said to have been bought in Alexandra.

Earlier on Monday, EWN reported that Tshuma was appearing before the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court after fleeing from the United Kingdom.
The publication stated:
