No Exam Leaks: ZIMSEC Refutes Claims of Irregularities in 2025 O- and A-Level Papers

ZIMSEC Refutes Claims of Leaked Papers and Exam Errors

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has dismissed reports alleging widespread irregularities during the ongoing 2025 Ordinary and Advanced Level examinations, assuring the public that all assessments are proceeding smoothly and securely.

Recent media reports had suggested that some schools received incorrectly labeled papers, fewer copies than the number of candidates, and in some cases, unsealed exam packages — sparking fears of possible leaks.

However, ZIMSEC moved swiftly to set the record straight, insisting there have been no leakages or compromises to the integrity of the exams.

ZIMSEC issues this statement to categorically reassure all candidates, parents, guardians, and the nation that the November 2025 examinations are proceeding as scheduled, with their integrity fully intact. There has been no leakage of any ZIMSEC question paper for the November 2025 examination session,” said the examinations body.

Security and Protocols in Place

ZIMSEC said it continues to enforce multi-layered security systems — from question paper setting to distribution — to ensure examination credibility.

The council acknowledged that while minor administrative or logistical issues may occasionally arise, they are being addressed promptly under established standard operating procedures.

We are pleased to report that the examination session has progressed very well so far. Candidate attendance has been high and the conduct in examination centres nationwide has been commendably orderly. We applaud the candidates for their focus and discipline,” ZIMSEC added.

Appreciation for Examination Staff

The examinations body also commended school heads, invigilators, and security officers for maintaining professionalism and protecting the integrity of the examination process.

ZIMSEC warned that any attempt at malpractice will be met with strict disciplinary and legal action.

The council remains fully committed to preserving the credibility, fairness, and security of the Zimbabwean examination system. We will continue to monitor the entire process vigilantly until its conclusion,” it said.

Public Urged to Rely on Verified Information

In its closing remarks, ZIMSEC urged stakeholders to disregard unverified social media reports and instead follow official communication channels for accurate updates.
