Allegations of Deepfake and Misleading Content

The ZRP will not tolerate the misuse of digital technologies to mislead the public, harm reputations or undermine trust in national institutions,” the statement said.

Call for Cooperation

Police urged Dr Nhunzva to cooperate with investigators, stating that it would be in his best interest to report to CID Law and Order to assist with ongoing inquiries.

The ZRP also used the opportunity to caution the public, reminding citizens that online activity is subject to the law and that technological advancements do not exempt users from accountability.
