Zimbabwe international Jordan Zemura has received glowing praise after joining Watford on a season-long loan from Udinese. Club technical director Gian Luca Nani believes the defender’s experience makes him a valuable signing.
The 26-year-old returns to English football following three seasons in Italy. During that spell, he represented Serie A outfit Udinese and gained valuable top-flight experience.
Watford back Zemura to strengthen defence
Nani explained that Zemura’s time in Italy helped him become a more complete defender. Additionally, he believes the left-back already understands the demands of the Championship.
“Zemura is a player with key experience in the Championship. His experience in Serie A has further improved him defensively,” said Nani on the club’s website.
The Watford official also highlighted the qualities Zemura will add to the squad. He expects the Zimbabwean to make an immediate impact this season.
Winning mentality excites Hornets
Nani praised Zemura’s leadership and professionalism after completing the loan move. He believes those attributes will benefit the Hornets throughout the campaign.
“He brings experience, quality and a winning mentality. We are really happy to have him at Watford.”
Zemura previously impressed in the Championship with Bournemouth. His performances later secured a move to Udinese in 2023. Now, he returns to England aiming to help Watford challenge for promotion.
