Wicknell Chivayo Gifts Alick Macheso’s Band 10 Toyota Aquas, Promises 15 More
Businessman Wicknell Chivayo has handed over 10 Toyota Aqua vehicles to members of Alick Macheso’s Orchestra Mberikwazvo.
Chivayo made the announcement on X, saying the gesture was meant to recognise the band’s decades of contribution to Zimbabwean music.
He said the group’s long-standing commitment to Macheso and his music deserved to be celebrated.

15 More Cars On The Way
According to Chivayo, Orchestra Mberikwazvo has 25 members in total.
While 10 members have already received their vehicles, he said the remaining 15 would also receive Toyota Aquas.
Chivayo said the vehicles for the outstanding members had already been fully paid for.
He added that they should be ready for collection within 10 days.
The 15 members were also instructed to submit their registration details to Madzibaba Chipaga to facilitate the process.
US$2,000 Cash For Remaining Members
The remaining 15 band members are also set to receive US$2,000 each.
Chivayo described the cash payments as a token of appreciation for their dedication and contribution to Zimbabwean music.
The additional payments mean the 15 members will collectively receive US$30,000 in cash.
Celebrating Nearly Three Decades Of Music
Chivayo said Orchestra Mberikwazvo had spent almost 30 years entertaining Zimbabweans and producing music that has endured across generations.
He also highlighted the work done by the band members away from the spotlight.
According to Chivayo, the musicians have travelled extensively over the years while remaining committed to performing alongside Macheso.
He said their ability to remain together for such a long period was an achievement worth recognising.
Chivayo Urges Band To Keep Music Alive
Chivayo encouraged the musicians to continue working together and supporting Macheso as he builds on his musical legacy.
He said their continued unity would help preserve and grow the Orchestra Mberikwazvo brand.
