Zimbabwe Police Dismiss Viral Recruitment Message as Hoax
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued a warning to the public over a fraudulent message circulating on social media.
The message falsely claimed that the police force had opened recruitment for new officers.

Police Dismiss Viral Recruitment Message
In a statement, the police said that the message is misleading and was not issued by the police. They urged citizens to ignore it and refrain from sharing unverified information.
“The ZRP dismisses a false and misleading statement circulating on social media regarding the recruitment of police officers. Members of the public are advised to disregard the statement”
The police stressed that any recruitment announcements would be communicated through official ZRP platforms. They added that the circulating message is a hoax, assuring the public that a formal notice will be issued at the appropriate time.
“The ZRP will issue a statement on recruitment through its official communication channels at the appropriate time”
Public Urged to Stay Alert
The police have called on members of the public to remain cautious, particularly on social media where false information can spread rapidly.
Citizens were advised to verify information before acting on it, especially when it relates to employment opportunities that could expose them to scams.
