Nicole Nyawera Turns Heads At Miss Supranational 2026 With Bridal Veil Falls-Inspired Costume
Miss Supranational Zimbabwe Nicole Nyawera has captured attention at the Miss Supranational 2026 pageant in Poland after unveiling a striking national costume inspired by the iconic Bridal Veil Falls in Chimanimani.
The costume has generated widespread admiration online, with photos of Nyawera wearing the elaborate design on the international stage and during a photoshoot at the famous waterfall going viral across social media.
A Tribute To Zimbabwe’s Natural Heritage
Created by designer Jasper Mandizera of Ivhu Tribe, the national costume celebrates one of Zimbabwe’s best-known natural landmarks while telling a story of resilience and hope.
The design draws inspiration from Bridal Veil Falls, which continued to flow despite the destruction caused by Cyclone Idai in 2019. Through fashion, the costume highlights the strength of both the landmark and the Chimanimani community that endured the devastating disaster.
Nyawera, a 26-year-old registered nurse from Mutare who works at a Harare hospital, is representing Zimbabwe on the global stage while showcasing the country’s culture, creativity and natural beauty.
Bridal Veil Inspired Costume Tells Story Of Survival
Sharing pictures from her photoshoot at Bridal Veil Falls, Nyawera explained the symbolism behind the creation.
“The Bridal Veil is a tribute to the timeless beauty, strength, and resilience of Bridal Veil Falls in Chimanimani, Zimbabwe. Inspired by one of the country’s most iconic natural landmarks, this costume celebrates the falls’ graceful, uninterrupted flow while honoring their remarkable story of survival.”

She said the design also reflects the aftermath of Cyclone Idai, when massive rocks and boulders were displaced, forever changing the landscape around the waterfall.
“Yet, despite the devastation, Bridal Veil Falls remained standing, its waters continuing to cascade with elegance and purpose.”
A Symbol Of Hope And Renewal
Nyawera said the waterfall mirrors the resilience of the people of Chimanimani by continuing to sustain surrounding communities, wildlife and vegetation despite the challenges it has faced.
She explained that every element of the costume was carefully chosen to represent the landmark’s enduring spirit.
“The flowing waters of the gown represent the endless cascade of the waterfall, while the textured elements symbolize the rugged rocks surrounding the Falls. Together, these features tell a story of perseverance, remembrance, and rebirth.”
She added that the artwork also honours the Dziva totem and its connection to Zimbabwe’s ancestry, spirituality and cultural identity.
“The Bridal Veil Gown is more than a costume. It is a celebration of survival, a tribute to the resilient spirit of Chimanimani, and a reminder that true beauty is not only found in grace, but also in the strength to keep flowing despite life’s greatest challenges.”
