ZIMSEC Withholds Bikita Fashu High School A’ Level Computer Science Results Over Suspected Cheating
The Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) has withheld the 2025 A’ Level Computer Science results for three students at Bikita Fashu High School, citing suspected irregularities during the exams.
The results for three of the six candidates who sat the exams have been withheld pending investigation.

School given 42 days to respond
ZIMSEC spokesperson Nicky Dhlamini confirmed the matter to Masvingo Mirror, explaining that the school has 42 days to submit a report detailing the circumstances surrounding the withheld results.
“If we withhold results, it means that there is something unusual that we picked. The school has a 42-window period to present its case, and the matter must be finalised during that time,” Dhlamini said.
Students express concern
One of the affected students confirmed that his results had been withheld and that he had complied by submitting a report as requested by ZIMSEC. However, he expressed concern that the students may have been coached on what to write in the report.
Of the six students who sat the exam, one scored an A, another a B, and a third a C, while the results of the remaining three remain withheld.
Parents left in the dark
The mother of one of the students whose results were withheld said she was not informed about the decision.
“No one communicated to me about the withheld results. What I know is that the children were phoned by their teacher to come and write reports,” she said.
ZIMSEC maintains integrity of exams
The investigation comes as ZIMSEC has been working to significantly reduce cheating and exam paper leakage, which in previous years threatened the credibility of the examination system.
The board’s swift action reflects its commitment to uphold the integrity of national assessments while giving schools an opportunity to explain irregularities.
