Zimbabwean Man Dies After Being Run Over Multiple Times by Girlfriend’s Ugandan Baby Daddy
In a tragic and disturbing incident, 29-year-old Emmanuel Mahamba from Mvuma, Zimbabwe, lost his life after being run over multiple times by a Ford Ranger during a violent altercation in Rivonia, Johannesburg.
The attack, which occurred around 4pm on Saturday on 12th Avenue, is believed to have stemmed from a heated romantic dispute involving Mahamba and a Ugandan national.
Eyewitnesses claim the suspect, who is the baby daddy of Ntombi’s child, deliberately drove over Mahamba in a fit of rage.
Romantic Dispute Turns Violent
According to those who knew the parties involved, Mahamba and the Ugandan suspect were both romantically linked to Ntombi.
While Mahamba was reportedly a married man with a child. Ntombi claims she broke off the affair with him after her child’s father found out.
The situation reportedly spiraled out of control when the suspect, in a dark grey Ford Ranger, drove over Mahamba — then reversed and ran over him again multiple times in full view of shocked bystanders.
Eyewitness Accounts Paint a Grim Picture
Sarah Britten, a communications and brand expert who witnessed the incident, recalled the horrifying moment. Speaking to The Citizen, she revealed,
“I slowed for a red light – noticing to my shock and horror that the bakkie was driving over a pedestrian. It literally bounced over him with both sets of tyres, before speeding off across Rivonia Road.”
Visibly shaken, Britten added,
“I got out of my car and locked it. I ran over to the victim and asked the bystanders if anyone had called the police. My hands were shaking so much I called my husband, who in turn called Netcare 911.”
She said Mahamba was still moving at the time.
“I told him an ambulance was coming. As paramedics arrived, I helped turn him over. They tried CPR, but it was too late.”
Police Launch Murder Investigation
The video footage of the brutal attack has since gone viral, shocking many across the internet and raising questions about violent confrontations related to romantic entanglements.
Police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that a case of murder has since been opened.
“No-one has been arrested yet and all leads to trace the suspect are being followed,” she stated.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
