“A Tale of Two Cities” Jah Prayzah, Alaine to Headline Afro Culture Connect Concert at HICC
Music lovers in Harare are in for a rare cross-continental experience as top performers from Africa and the Caribbean prepare to share one stage in a high-profile cultural showcase at the Harare International Convention Centre (HICC) this Saturday.
The event which is organised by Gateway Stream Media in partnership with Massive Events and Roughmix, will feature Zimbabwean superstar Jah Prayzah alongside Jamaican reggae sensation Alaine in what organisers describe as a celebration of music, identity, and cultural unity.
Bridging Zimbabwe and Jamaica Through Music
Running under the theme “A Tale of Two Cities,” the show aims to fuse sounds and traditions from Zimbabwe and Jamaica.
Audiences can expect a rich blend of Afro rhythms and reggae melodies, delivered through live performances and high-energy stage production designed to reflect both cultures.
Strong Local Line-Up to Support Headliners
A host of local artists will add depth to the show, including Feli Nandi, Xiba, Nisha T, Kadjah, Volts JT, Ninety6, Raymar, Ngwere Diki, and Kadiki.
MC Templeman, MC Mox, Tanaman, Yahya Goodvibes, and DJ Eve are also billed to keep the crowd engaged throughout the night.
Organisers Highlight Cultural Connection
Gateway Stream Media Manager Elton Kurima said the event goes beyond entertainment, positioning it as a platform for cultural exchange.
“We are bringing together two outstanding headline acts — Jah Prayzah and Alaine — supported by a vibrant local line-up to create a unique blend of musical styles.
“The aim is to celebrate the strong cultural ties between Zimbabwe and Jamaica while delivering an immersive and unforgettable experience,” he said.
Kurima added that the contrast between Jah Prayzah’s distinct Zimbabwean sound and Alaine’s reggae style will give fans a diverse musical experience.
A Celebration of Identity and Heritage
Organisers say Afro Culture Connect is meant to highlight shared roots and artistic expression across continents.
Jah Prayzah, known for fusing modern and traditional Zimbabwean music, is expected to deliver a powerful performance, while Alaine will bring her signature lovers rock and reggae sound to the Harare stage.
