ZITF Boost: ZINARA Announces 100% Waiver on Vehicle Licensing Penalties
The Zimbabwe National Road Administration has introduced a nationwide promotion granting motorists a 100 percent waiver on penalties for overdue vehicle licence fees.
The initiative coincides with the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2026, offering temporary financial relief while encouraging compliance.
The campaign runs from April 20 to May 2, giving vehicle owners a limited window to settle outstanding licence fees without the burden of accumulated penalties.

Relief for Vehicle Owners
According to The Chronicle, under the arrangement, motorists can clear their arrears at ZINARA licensing offices, through authorised agents across the country, and at selected tollgates. However, the authority noted that tollgates along the Mutare–Plumtree Highway are excluded from the programme.
The move is expected to ease the financial strain on drivers who may have fallen behind on payments, while also improving overall compliance with vehicle licensing regulations.
Linked to ZITF Activities
The waiver is being implemented under the theme “Be One in a Million,” aligning with activities surrounding this year’s trade fair, which officially opened in Bulawayo.
By tying the initiative to the high-profile event, ZINARA aims to reach a wider audience and maximise participation during the promotion period.
Boosting Compliance and Revenue
ZINARA said the campaign is designed not only to assist motorists but also to increase revenue inflows that support road maintenance and infrastructure development.
The authority has previously introduced similar measures during major national events, using them as an incentive for motorists to regularise their accounts.
Call to Act Before Deadline
Motorists have been urged to take advantage of the offer before it expires, with ZINARA stressing that the waiver is strictly time-bound and subject to specific terms and conditions.
“Vehicle owners should utilise this opportunity to clear their arrears and remain compliant,” the authority said.
