Bellarmine Mugabe and Tobias Matonhodze will be sentenced on Friday morning. The Alexandra Regional Court will deliver the judgment after their guilty pleas.
The case involves the attempted murder of Sipho Mahlangu. Mahlangu worked at the Mugabe family residence in Hyde Park, Johannesburg. He was shot and wounded during the incident.
Previously, Mugabe admitted to pointing a firearm. He also admitted violating South Africa’s immigration laws. Meanwhile, Matonhodze pleaded guilty to attempted murder. He also admitted illegal immigration and ammunition possession. Additionally, he admitted defeating the ends of justice.
Missing Firearm Raises Concerns
The court postponed the matter to allow the defence to find the firearm. The weapon remains a key piece of missing evidence. However, both accused have already accepted responsibility.
