Johannesburg Water Shutdown: These Suburbs Will Be Affected

Johannesburg Water will temporarily cut water supply to 16 suburbs in Region A on 25 June.

The interruption will run from 09:00 until 21:00, lasting 12 hours.

The utility linked the shutdown to infrastructure improvements along Surrey and Walton Road.

According to Johannesburg Water, the upgrades will strengthen service delivery and improve future water reliability.

Areas Set to Experience Water Interruptions

Residents in several suburbs should prepare for a full-day water outage.

The affected areas include Carlswald all Extensions, Erands all Extensions, Summerset all Extensions, and Noordwyk all Extensions.

The shutdown will also affect Sagewood Ext 18, 19, 20, 23 and 24.

Other impacted areas include Crowthorne all Extensions and Kyalami AH 9.

Water supply will also stop in Kyalami Gardens, Kyalami Estates, Kyalami Ridge, Kyalami Heights, and Kyalami Hills.

Furthermore, Barbeque Downs all Extensions and Vorna Valley all Extensions will be affected.

The outage also covers Jukskei View all Extensions, south of the N1 and north of the Jukskei River.

Blue Hills Extensions 8 and 9 will experience the interruption as well.

All streets within these communities will lose water during the shutdown.

Water Collection Points and Fault Reporting

Meanwhile, Johannesburg Water has identified several emergency water collection points.

Residents can collect water at Noordwyk Spar and Crowthorne Spar.

Additional points include Beaulieu, at the corner of Lourens and Papenfus Drive.

Water will also be available at Kyalami Corner and Kyalami Prep School.

Other locations include Barbeque Downs Shakespeare and Dickens, George and 15th Road, and Midway Mews Spar.

Residents may also use the Sasol Garage on Waterfall Drive and Mushroom Farm Shopping Centre.

However, Johannesburg Water stressed that these tankers remain a backup measure.

The utility said tankers will only operate if the outage exceeds the planned period.

If water remains unavailable after 21:00 on 25 June, residents should report the fault immediately.

They can call 011 688 1699 or 086 056 2874.

Alternatively, residents can send an SMS to 45201. Faults may also be reported via email at [email protected].

In addition, residents can contact Johannesburg Water on X at @JHBWater.
