Kaizer Chiefs Part Ways With Striker Tashreeq Morris
Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that striker Tashreeq Morris has left the club after both parties agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent.
The Soweto giants announced the decision on Friday, saying the agreement followed discussions between the club and the 32-year-old forward, bringing his time at Naturena to an early end.
In a statement shared on the club’s official X account, Chiefs said the amicable separation would allow Morris to continue his career elsewhere as a free agent.

Club wishes forward well
The club thanked Morris for his contribution and wished him success in the next stage of his career.
Chiefs said the mutual agreement gives the experienced striker the freedom to join a club of his choice, ending his spell with Amakhosi on cordial terms.
Short stay at Naturena
Morris arrived at Kaizer Chiefs with the expectation of strengthening the club’s attacking department, but he found opportunities limited and was unable to cement a regular place in the starting line-up.
His departure marks the end of a brief stint with the Glamour Boys as the club continues to reshape its squad ahead of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.
Squad rebuild gathers pace
The striker’s exit comes as new head coach Fernando Da Cruz continues to oversee changes to the playing squad during the current transfer window.
With several arrivals and departures already confirmed, Morris’ departure creates another opening as Chiefs continue their rebuilding process in preparation for the new campaign.
Now a free agent, the striker is free to negotiate with interested clubs, with reports suggesting newly promoted Durban City could emerge as his next destination.
