Air Zimbabwe Reschedules Harare-London Flights After Friday Cancellation Throws Schedule Off Course
Air Zimbabwe has announced fresh changes to its Harare-London flight schedule after an operational disruption on Friday, 31 July 2026, continued to affect its long-haul operations. Passengers due to fly from Harare to London on Sunday, 2 August, will now depart on Monday night, while the return flight from London has also been pushed back to Tuesday as the airline works to restore normal service.
The airline confirmed the revised schedule on Sunday, 2 August 2026, saying the disruption had affected subsequent flights and apologising to customers for the inconvenience.
Air Zimbabwe Explains Harare-London Flight Changes
According to the Air Zimbabwe official notice, the airline said the latest schedule changes were necessary after the operational disruption experienced on 31 July.
The airline said:
“Air Zimbabwe wishes to advise passengers booked on Flight UM724 from Harare to London on 02 August 2026 and Flight UM725 from London to Harare, originally scheduled for 03 August 2026, that both services have been rescheduled following an operational disruption experienced on 31 July 2026.”
It added:
“This disruption had an impact on subsequent flight scheduling and necessitated adjustments to our operations, as we work to restore normal service.”
Under the revised timetable, Flight UM724 will now depart Harare on 3 August 2026 at 20:30 and arrive in London at 06:00 on 4 August. The return Flight UM725 will leave London Gatwick at 08:30 on 4 August and arrive in Harare at 20:00 the same day.
Travellers React To Continuing Air Zimbabwe Delays
The latest announcement drew mixed reactions from travellers on X, with some urging the airline to provide more comprehensive updates.
One user wrote:
“If Friday’s delay has thrown the entire week’s schedule into chaos, just say so and publish the FULL adjusted timetable. Stop drip-feeding us one flight at a time.”
Another commented:
“It was ideal to lease at least two planes. The moment you delayed that flight by a day all schedules fell out of sync.”
A passenger who said they had paid US$1,300 (approximately R21,450) for the affected flight also appealed for better communication.
“Please contact your customers that have paid US$1,300 for the flight tomorrow.”
Air Zimbabwe Says Affected Passengers Are Being Contacted
Air Zimbabwe said affected travellers are being contacted directly by its customer service team with the revised travel arrangements.
The airline said:
“Affected passengers are being contacted directly by our customer service team and being advised of the revised schedule.”
It also apologised for the disruption, saying it appreciates the patience and continued support of passengers as it works to return operations to normal.
