Lake Kariba Ferry Disaster Death Toll Rises To 68 After 22 More Bodies Recovered
The death toll from the RIDA Mbuya Nehanda ferry disaster on Lake Kariba has risen to 68 after 22 more bodies were recovered.
The latest victims were found near King’s Camp, with divers continuing efforts to locate others who remain missing.
Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Muchechesi, commander of the Boat Regiment, confirmed that 22 bodies had been retrieved during the latest operation.

Bodies Taken To Kariba
A boat carrying the recovered bodies is transporting them from Long Island to Andorra Harbour.
From there, the bodies will be taken to Kariba District Hospital mortuary for further procedures.
The recovery operation remains ongoing as authorities continue working across the affected area.

Divers Continue Search
Despite the latest recovery, some divers have remained at the accident site.
They are continuing to search the waters for additional victims.
