Highlanders UK Chapter Donates US$1,068 To Families Of Accident Victims

The Highlanders Chapter in the United Kingdom has extended financial support to the families of four club members who died in a road accident last month.

The chapter raised US$1,068, which was handed over at the weekend to Highlanders executives Kindman Ndlovu and Elkanah Dube.

The donation will be shared equally among the bereaved families.

Four Families Receive Support

Highlanders chairman Kenneth Mhlophe, vice chairman Fiso Siziba and board member responsible for finance Nkani Khoza died in the accident.

Club member Mbalenhle Sibanda also lost her life in the crash.

Ndlovu confirmed that each bereaved family received US$267 from the UK chapter.

“We received US$1 068 donated to the four bereaved families by the UK Chapter which has been shared equally between the families with each family getting US$267,” said Ndlovu.

The contribution comes as the club and its supporters continue to mourn the loss of the four members.

UK Chapter Pledges Continued Support

The UK Chapter said the donation was part of its efforts to stand with the club during a difficult period.

Chapter executive member Mbusi Dube said the group would continue mobilising resources for Highlanders.

He said the deaths had prompted members in the UK to contribute towards supporting the affected families.

“We will continue to mobilise resources for the club. The tragic death of club members prompted us to raise something small for their families,” said Dube.

He also conveyed his condolences to the families and expressed hope that they would find comfort following the tragedy.

The donation adds to the support being extended to the families as Highlanders continues to deal with the loss of its senior officials and a club member.
