The case was reported by The Herald on August 27, 2026, with the State led by prosecutor Shiela Mpindu. The court heard that Kashiri was staying at cottages at Allan Wilson Boys High School when the incident occurred.
According to The Herald, Kashiri produced a letter which purportedly came from school headmaster Tafara Zhou and allegedly used it to convince the student that he had authorisation to engage in the sexual act.
The publication reported that the student complied after being intimidated by Kashiri.
The Herald reported:
“On the strength of that letter and out of fear of Kashiri, the complainant complied with the demands and was sodomised by Kashiri once.”
