ZBC To Conduct Door-To-Door TV And Radio Licence Inspections in Borrowdale Brooke
The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) is set to conduct a door-to-door inspection of television and radio licences at Borrowdale Brooke Village in Harare.
The exercise is scheduled to run from September 7 to September 18, 2026, according to a letter issued to the residential estate’s management.
ZBC licensing inspectors will visit individual households during the exercise to check whether residents have valid broadcasting licences.

Inspectors to verify licences
The inspection will focus on households with television and radio sets and whether their broadcasting licences are valid.
Residents who have not obtained a licence, or whose licences have expired, will also be able to purchase or renew them during the exercise.
The move comes as ZBC steps up efforts to ensure households comply with broadcasting licensing requirements.

Estate management asked to assist
ZBC has asked the estate’s management and security personnel to cooperate with its inspectors.
The broadcaster wants security staff to facilitate access to properties where necessary so that the inspection can proceed without disruption.
“We kindly request Management and Security to provide the necessary assistance and cooperation to the ZBC licensing Inspectors during the inspection exercise and to facilitate their access where required,” the letter reads.
ZBC said the cooperation would help ensure the exercise is conducted smoothly.
Residents urged to have licences in order
The inspection means Borrowdale Brooke households will come under scrutiny during the two-week exercise.
Those found without valid licences may be required to obtain or renew them.
ZBC said its inspectors would be issuing licences to households that had not yet purchased or renewed them.
The exercise will therefore combine licence verification with registration and renewal services.
