Zimbabwean tactician Simbarashe Gondo has secured a new coaching role in South African football.
Gondo will lead Baroka FC in the Limpopo ABC Motsepe League this season.
The appointment gives him another chance to establish himself across the border.
He previously managed Ngwaabe City Motors in the same division.
Now, Gondo faces a fresh challenge with a club carrying greater expectations.
Baroka confirmed his arrival through an announcement on social media.
The club also welcomed the Zimbabwean coach ahead of the new campaign.
“Baroka FC is delighted to announce the appointment of Simbarashe ‘Coach Simba’ Gondo as our new Head Coach,” the club said.
“Let’s give him the warmest Mošate welcome as we build the next chapter together.”
Baroka target progress under new coach
Gondo now begins work with a club that has experienced South Africa’s top division.
Baroka previously competed in the Premier Soccer League before dropping down the football pyramid.
The club now competes in the third tier of South African football.
Therefore, Gondo will face pressure to deliver positive results from the beginning.
His previous experience in the ABC Motsepe League should help him settle quickly.
Moreover, the move allows him to continue developing his coaching career.
Gondo will now look to build a competitive squad and improve Baroka’s fortunes.
The Zimbabwean coach also hopes to strengthen his reputation through the new challenge.
His appointment further highlights the growing involvement of Zimbabwean coaches in South African football.
For Gondo, the Baroka opportunity represents another important stage in his coaching journey.
