Paul Tungwarara Says He Will Keep Flying in Helicopters Despite Warnings After Wicknell Chivayo’s Death
Presidential adviser Paul Tungwarara has refused to stop flying helicopters despite receiving warnings and prophecies urging him to reconsider the mode of transport following the death of Wicknell Chivayo.
Tungwarara made his position clear after sharing a video of himself travelling by helicopter to Mberengwa, saying he would not allow fear of death to dictate how he lives.

Paul Tungwarara Flies To Mberengwa
The businessman shared footage from inside a helicopter as he travelled to Mberengwa, using the post to address people who have been warning him against continuing to fly.
In his caption, Tungwarara said he had received various prophecies and warnings telling him to stop using helicopters because Chivayo had died in a helicopter crash.
However, he said he had no intention of giving in to fear.
“We are flying to Mberengwa. People have been bringing various prophecies and warnings, telling us to stop using helicopters as our mode of transport because our dear brother, Sir Wicknell Chivayo, perished in a helicopter crash. However, I am not going to stop flying in helicopters out of fear of the unknown. None of us will escape this life alive. We should never live in fear of death as if we were immortal, all mortals must die.
We will continue to fly in helicopters to honor Sir Wicknell Chivayo.”
‘We Are Not Going To Stop’-Paul Tungwarara
Tungwarara also addressed the issue directly in the video, questioning why he should abandon helicopters simply because his friend died in an accident involving one.
“Kunevaya vaya varikuti atizikufanhira kufamba nemahelicopter just because one of our friends Wicknell Chivayo died in a helicopter crash. Ehh for us to be able to honor our friend, we are not going to stop flying with choppers because we are honoring Wicknell. So right now l am in the chopper going to Mberengwa, also must be very clear handingarege kuenda kuMbare nekuti kuMbare kwaitaCholera ndoramba ndichienda kuMbare saka ndicharamba ndichitora mahelicopter ndichirangarira our friend. Kana tikafira muhelicopter sezvirikuporofitwa azvina ndava nekuti tirikurangarira Wicknell. So we are not going to stop buying choppers and flying with choppers. Let this be clear, don’t frighten us, we are moving on.”
Chivayo’s Death
Chivayo died in a helicopter crash alongside his wife, Lucy Rujeko Muteke, in an accident that has continued to dominate discussions on social media.
The tragedy has also prompted warnings to others who regularly use helicopters, with Tungwarara now publicly pushing back against calls for him to stop flying.
Rather than viewing the warnings as a reason to change his lifestyle, he said he would continue using helicopters and described the decision as part of how he chooses to honour his late friend, Wicknell.
Remarks Spark Outrage
Tungwarara’s comments have since triggered criticism and outrage on social media, with his decision to continue flying despite the warnings drawing particular attention.
