‘But He Said The Cars Were Fully Paid’: Claims That Car Dealers Are Owed Money For Vehicles After Wicknell Chivayo’s Death Spark Skepticism

Claims that some car dealers are owed money for vehicles collected but allegedly not paid for have sparked a buzz on social media following the death of businessman Wicknell Chivayo.

According to The Standard, some dealers are scrambling to figure out how to recover money for vehicles that were collected but allegedly never paid for, while others are reportedly experiencing a decline in business.

The claims have raised questions among Zimbabweans, with some pointing out that Chivayo routinely assured beneficiaries of his vehicle giveaways that their cars were fully paid for and ready for collection.

Some people have questioned why dealers would release vehicles to beneficiaries if payments had not been completed, arguing that the reported claims contradict Chivayo’s assurances that the cars were fully paid for.
