Scottland FC’s Future Faces Uncertainty As Owner Expresses Frustration With Zimbabwean Football
Scott Sakupwanya is reportedly considering walking away from football at the end of the 2027 season after becoming frustrated with what he believes is unfair treatment of Scottland FC. The club owner is said to be unhappy with match officiating and football administrators, despite investing millions in the game.
The development was shared by City of Harare corporate communications head Stanley Gama following a conversation with Sakupwanya on Wednesday evening, 4 November 2026.

Gama said Sakupwanya felt that his club had been unfairly targeted by match officials, football administrators and people who claimed to be assisting him.
According to Gama, the businessman was particularly unhappy following Scottland’s match on Wednesday, during which he believed his team had been denied a legitimate goal.
Gama quoted Sakupwanya as expressing his frustration:
“I would concentrate on my business than being used and abused like this.”
The Scottland owner also reportedly questioned what it would take to convince him to remain involved in football.
He also expressed concern that his enthusiasm for the sport had diminished after what he viewed as repeated incidents involving his club.
Gama quoted him as saying:
“I’m fed up, let’s lose fairly.”

Sakupwanya’s possible departure would mark a significant development for Scottland FC, given the financial backing he has provided since entering football.
Gama described the businessman as passionate about the game and credited his arrival with helping revive interest in local football.
