A Domboshava teen is at the centre of Colonel Minnie Chiwenga’s Borrowdale phone store robbery.
An 18-year-old man from Domboshava has admitted guilt in a high-value theft case involving the upscale Style by Minnie VVIP boutique, owned by Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi Chiwenga, wife of Zimbabwe’s Vice President.
Succeed Mukaro appeared before Harare magistrate Ethel Chichera on charges of unlawful entry and theft of smartphones valued at nearly $17,000.
The Nighttime Heist
Court records reveal the incident occurred on May 31st after closing hours. The store supervisor had securely locked the premises, unaware that Mukaro would later shatter the front display glass to gain entry.
The intruder made off with multiple premium mobile devices before vanishing into the night.

Authorities began tracking the stolen merchandise when detectives received a tip on June 3rd about suspicious phone sales at Ximex Mall. This breakthrough led investigators to Blessed Luciano, who admitted purchasing devices from Isaac Craig Chaza days earlier.
In an undercover operation, police posed as potential buyers to apprehend Chaza, who then implicated Steve Makangira and ultimately led authorities to Mukaro. The suspect was intercepted along Jason Moyo Street while accompanied by his brother, still in possession of several stolen devices.
Evidence Links Suspect to Crime Scene
A subsequent search of Mukaro’s Domboshava residence yielded additional stolen property. Forensic examination confirmed his fingerprints matched those recovered from the damaged boutique, solidifying the prosecution’s case. Magistrate Chichera has deferred sentencing to allow for presentencing considerations.
