Some Zimbabwean workers shared that they were brutally attacked by a Chinese company owner.
Employees of Huaman Investments Pvt Ltd, a Chinese-operated firm in Zimbabwe, have come forward with shocking allegations of physical assault by management after attempting to report workplace injuries through proper channels formally.
The workers state they faced violent attacks when presenting NSSA (National Social Security Authority) documentation requiring employer acknowledgement of their injuries.
Workers Brutally Attacked By Chinese Company Owner
According to victim testimonies, Chinese manager Lohua and a Zimbabwean foreman allegedly assaulted workers with bricks and iron bars upon learning they had involved both NSSA and trade unions.
“They questioned why we brought external parties into company matters,” one employee recounted.

They described the incident as part of an ongoing pattern of abuse by foreign employers against local workers.
Workers disclosed appalling employment terms during interviews. They have 14-hour daily shifts (5am-7pm) for $0.90/hour wages, daily earnings between $7-$8 with no formal contracts. They get hour breaks during night shifts and if you are late even by 5 minutes they face a $20 wage deductions.
Systemic Abuse and Failed Justice
One employee described losing a tooth during a beating, while another reported being set upon by guard dogs when attempting to collect unpaid wages after termination.
Workers claim police in Msasa refused to document their complaints without receiving fuel money for investigations, allowing alleged bribery by the Chinese owners to prevent official reports.

These incidents join growing reports of mistreatment by Chinese employers in Zimbabwe.
“After four years of service, this treatment breaks my heart,” shared one employee who was fired months ago.
Workers of Chinese-operated businesses, especially mines, are facing abuse throughout Zimbabwe. Some business owners are in courts after abusing and even killing Zimbabwean workers. The public is calling for the government and law enforcement to aid abused workers in fighting for justice.
